Oil and Gas Commission (OGC)

The OGC is responsible for "regulating oil and gas activity", through fair, consistent, responsible, and transparent stakeholder engagement; for the benefit of British Columbians; and by balancing environmental, economic, and social outcomes.

The OGC regulates exploration, development, production and pipelines of oil and gas in British Columbia in a responsible environmentally sound manner.

The OGC has an emergency management plan which is used to guide and co-ordinate activities in oil or natural gas related emergency situations. Emergency Response plans include detailed procedures and communication information which are used to ensure that emergencies are handed in an appropriate manner.
